Frequently asked questions about buying and replacement
Can I also buy fire detectors without installation?
Yes. We also supply suitable replacement detectors without installation – for example to installers or to operators who commission their own specialist company. In fire alarm systems required under building law, the installation may only be carried out by a specialist company certified to DIN 14675 (more on the specialist company).
For which manufacturers do you supply replacement detectors?
For ESSER, Bosch / SONAX-ALARM, Hekatron, Notifier, NSC (Hochiki / Apollo), Detectomat, Telenot, Siemens, Securiton, Zettler, WAGNER, Xtralis VESDA, Minimax / HELIOS, Stratos. Other manufacturers on request.
Does the new detector fit the existing base?
That depends on the manufacturer and the detector series. Many successors fit the existing base; for older series a new base is required. You will find the details for each series in our detector lists.
In which area do you carry out installations?
We carry out installations within a radius of up to 100 km around Schwalmtal – including in Mönchengladbach, Viersen, Krefeld, Neuss, Düsseldorf, Duisburg, Heinsberg, Aachen and Cologne. Outside this area only on special request.
What happens to the removed old detectors?
On request, we take the old detectors with us when replacing them on site and take care of their disposal.
When do fire detectors have to be replaced?
Under DIN 14675 and DIN VDE 0833-2 after 5 years; for detectors with contamination compensation after 8 years. Details on the page Deadlines & standards.
