2. Hosting

This website is hosted by STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin. All data arising when the website is accessed and when enquiries are made via the contact form are processed on STRATO servers in Germany. STRATO processes this data exclusively on our behalf and in accordance with our instructions (data processing on behalf pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR).

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing our website securely and reliably (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

SSL or TLS encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content – such as the enquiries, detector lists and programming files that you send us via the form – this website uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the browser’s address bar begins with “https://” and a padlock symbol is displayed. When encryption is active, the data you transmit cannot be read by third parties.

3. Server log files

When our website is accessed, the web server automatically records information transmitted by your browser. This includes in particular:

  • IP address of the requesting device
  • Date and time of access
  • Name and URL of the page accessed
  • Referrer URL (the page previously visited)
  • Browser and operating system used

This data is required to deliver the website, to ensure its stability and security and to detect misuse. It is not combined with other data sources. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The log files are automatically deleted or anonymised by the host after a short time.

4. Enquiries via the contact form

If you contact us via the enquiry form, we process the data you enter. This comprises mandatory information (company or property, contact person, e-mail address, manufacturer of the system) and voluntary information such as telephone number, location of the property, requested service, number of detectors and your message.

Uploaded files

You may voluntarily send us a detector list (e.g. with manufacturer, type and order number) as well as programming files of your fire alarm system. These files may contain technical information about your building and your system. We use them exclusively to review your enquiry and prepare a quote, treat them confidentially and do not pass them on to third parties unless this is necessary to fulfil your order (e.g. to clarify technical questions with the manufacturer).

The form data and files are transmitted by e-mail to our sales mailbox. On the web server, uploaded files are only stored temporarily for sending and are then automatically deleted. The form entries are not stored in a database of the website.

Purpose, legal basis and storage period

We process your information in order to handle your enquiry and prepare a quote for you. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (implementation of pre-contractual measures) and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

We delete your data as soon as it is no longer required for processing your enquiry. If a contract is concluded, we retain the associated documents in accordance with the statutory retention obligations (in particular under the German Commercial Code (HGB) and the German Fiscal Code (AO), generally six or ten years respectively).

Providing your data is voluntary. Without the mandatory information, however, we cannot process your enquiry.

5. Contact by e-mail or telephone

If you contact us by e-mail or telephone, we process your information (e.g. name, contact details, content of your request) in order to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, insofar as your enquiry is related to a contract or its initiation, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Section 4 applies accordingly to the storage period.

6. Cookies, analytics and advertising

This website uses services of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”) that use cookies and similar technologies and thereby store or read information on your device. This only happens if you have given your consent via our consent banner. The legal basis is your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time with effect for the future by opening the settings again via the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page.

WordPress only sets technically necessary cookies for logged-in editors in the administration area of the website. Fonts are not loaded from external servers; social media plugins or map services are not embedded. The language (German/English) is determined by the address of the page; no cookie is set for this.

Consent management

We store your choice in the consent banner, together with the time of your decision, in the local storage of your browser (local storage, entry “mt_consent”) so that we can take it into account on later visits; after twelve months we ask again. This information is not transmitted to us or to third parties. The storage is strictly necessary for managing your consent (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG); the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR in conjunction with Art. 7(1) GDPR (proof of consent). Google’s scripts are only loaded after you have given your consent. In addition, we use Google’s consent mode, which passes your choice on to the Google services. If you withdraw a consent, we delete the related Google cookies in your browser and reload the page.

Google Analytics

With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to analyse the use of our website statistically and to improve our services. This involves processing, for example, the pages viewed, time spent on the page, origin of the visit (referrer), approximate region and information about the browser and device. Google Analytics 4 does not store complete IP addresses. The analysis data is deleted after 14 months at the latest. The service is only loaded after your consent; the analysis is carried out via the WordPress plugin “Site Kit by Google”.

Google AdSense

With your consent, we display advertisements via Google AdSense. For this purpose, Google uses cookies and comparable technologies to deliver ads, measure their effectiveness, prevent fraud and – if you have consented to this – tailor ads to your interests (personalised advertising). If you have not consented to personalised advertising, Google may serve non-personalised ads that are based only on the content of the page. In particular, device and browser information, the shortened IP address, pages accessed and interactions with ads are processed. You can manage your settings for personalised advertising from Google at myadcenter.google.com .

Data transfer to the USA

When these services are used, data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; the transfer takes place on the basis of the adequacy decision of the European Commission (Art. 45 GDPR). Further information: Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses data on partner websites.

7. Your rights

Within the scope of the statutory provisions, you have the right at any time to:

  • Access to your data stored by us (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • Erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • Withdrawal of consent given, with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR)

Right to object

Insofar as we process your data on the basis of legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you may object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR).

An informal message to the contact details given above is sufficient to exercise your rights.

Right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is: Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen (State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia), Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf.

8. No automated decision-making

No automated decision-making, including profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR, takes place.

9. Changes to this privacy policy

We will adapt this privacy policy if the website or the legal requirements change. The version published here at the time applies.
